The Kingfisher is our most spacious safari tent, and the one built so nobody gets left at the bottom of a step. It sits on a hillside in Wimberley, Texas, one of three authentic African safari tents at Spoon Mountain Glamping, each with its own private pool. If you have ever had to call ahead and ask whether a place would actually work, this is the one. Accessible parking, lighted walkways, ramps, a wheel-in shower with grab rails and a roomy interior you can move through without turning sideways. INSIDE The king bed has a comfortable mattress, soft Comphy brand sheets and plush pillows. The bathroom is large, with a wheelchair-accessible shower, custom tiling, Bee Kind toiletries and a Spoon Mountain robe. The kitchenette holds a Nespresso machine, tea kettle, microwave, mini-refrigerator, sink and dishes, with complimentary Nespresso pods and teas. The seating area looks out over the hills, with Alexa, books and cards for the slow part of the afternoon. A split AC and heat unit keeps the tent exactly where you want it, in August and in January. Wimberley is of course an amazing little town in Texas hill country, if you’re looking for an amazing getaway look no further! Yvette is super sweet, helpful, and caring as a host. Her husband, I had the pleasure of meeting with in person upon our departure. This property is perfectly manicured and positioned to provide the amenities and privacy that this property advertises. And enjoy the pool, amazing to have your own secluded piece of paradise in the heart of Texas.

i was looking for a space to disconnect from the city and from some personal hardship. this place delivered that and more. the interior design and attention to detail were incredible. the outdoor spaces were so well taken care of, and made my stay even better. the night sky, the clear view at the stars, the terrace, and the available grill where incredible. the amenities, kitchen, coffee, and spotless bathroom made me feel like i was staying at a spa. everything was well though put and considered. i would have stayed here way longer, and will come back for sure. thank you for a great relaxing stay.

Every single thing about The Kingfisher was wonderful! Totally accessible for persons with differing abilities, the clamping experience was amazing! The décor was lovely and soothing, the bed linens were absolutely scrumptious, the towels were fluffy, and the shower was utterly wonderful! Yvette was super responsive and checked in with us in a completely unobtrusive way. We were visiting the area while experiencing a family death and both Yvette and Tanya (with the on site spa) were sensitive and kind beyond measure. Quite simply, I can’t say enough good things about our experience! I hope to return to Wimberley again and I will most definitely rebook with this oasis!
