FORWARD
Camping was a favorite pastime for Ken and I with our two children, Kennedy and Hallie. We especially loved the evenings when we would sit around the campfire with friends and family. Ken would bring his guitar and we would sing songs and eat s’mores. It was simply magical!
Another favorite activity for all was when we would join together to tell a collective story that always went in many directions. As we all sat in the circle, we would look to Ken wide-eyed and full of wonder for him to start the story with a paragraph or two. His imagination was wild and fun and this would set the tone for our collective story. He captured our attention and then he would STOP, mid sentence, and then I would pick up the story and take it in my own direction. Each person took a turn adding to the story. Sometimes it would only be one word, sometimes it would be a 10 minute monologue (this was usually my very dramatic daughter who loves to be on stage)! Ultimately, the story would end up back with Ken where he would finish it off and say “The End”. It was so interesting to see where the story went!
Part of my vision for Spoon Mountain Glamping is that each of our guests would participate in our family tradition. We would love for you to contribute to our ongoing, collective story with a word, a paragraph, or pages and pages. You can start a new chapter or draw a picture for illustration.
Every few months or so, I will add your part of the story to my ongoing blog so you can continue reading where this story and adventure takes us! I truly hope you will want to participate and will help us create a wonderful story and Spoon Mountain Glamping memories that will last a lifetime!
CHAPTER 1
The fastened seat belt sign chimed and Hank was brought back from his thoughts. As he clipped his seatbelt he was both anxious and nervous to start his next post in South Africa. Something felt different, but he wasn’t sure why just yet. He took a sleeping pill and readied himself for the 14 hour flight to Johannesburg. His 30+ years with the CIA gave him confidence, but he knew they would be waiting for him….

The time had come, Hanks flight had landed. As he sat anxiously waiting to grab his belongings and head off the plane, suddenly he heard a familiar voice behind him…..

He was taken back when his eyes locked in on hers. It was a familiar smile; a comfortable look he couldn’t quite remember how or why he knew her, but he couldn’t deny that he knew this woman to his core. She didn’t seem to know who he was, but since his breath was taken away with just the glance of her, he knew he couldn’t just leave it at that. Her beauty was…

C&C LBK, TX
Hank had to switch gears and focus on his important trip to South Africa. He grabbed his things, got in the rental car and headed off to his hotel. When he arrived, he was eager to check in and begin researching the area to complete his plan on where he was going to execute his mission.

Check in was a breeze and Hank reached his room, began to unpack and got ready to go over his plan to accomplish his mission. As he sat there, his mind kept going back to the woman on the plane. “Where do I know her from?” he asked himself. Just as he sat down to ponder on it, there was a knock on the door…

He wasn’t expecting anyone. He moved quietly to the door and his hand instinctively rested on the grip of his tied and true Glock19. He checked the peephole and found the hallway was deserted. He slowly opened the door and noticed a large white envelope on the dingy red carpet. Before reaching down, he checked the hallway in both directions. After snatching up the envelope and securing the lock on the door once again, he tore the envelope open…
