TOP TEN PERCENT IN THE WORLD!
As long-time residents of Wimberley, we have always loved Blue Hole and enjoyed taking our kids there when they were young before it was a park. Locals like to talk about the days, “before it was a park when anyone could go swim anytime,” but, the truth of the matter is, Blue Hole Regional Park is 126 acres of beauty, fun, and nature that wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the friends of Blue Hole who decided to save it from being bought up and commercialized or made into someone’s private back yard.
If you haven’t been, it’s a must-visit place. At any time of the year, you can enjoy a quiet morning walk, a sunset stroll, or relax under the shade with a picnic lunch. In the summer, from May through the end of September, you can take a dive into the crystal clear waters – if you have a reservation that is! (Be SURE and check their calendar and make your reservation in advance so you get a good day and time to visit.)
Blue Hole is located about 2 minutes from Spoon Mountain Glamping. Book your tent now and be sure and book your jump into the water if you are here during the summer. But, no matter when you are here you can walk down and see it, and enjoy the miles of hiking and biking trails, bird and animal watching, secret spots, and many local events such as movies in the park, Blue Hole Halloween, and more.
